The Department of Campus Recreation is committed to providing a comprehensive Outdoor Adventure program for the entire campus community. No experience is necessary. College life is about new experiences in both academics and social activities. Step out of your comfort zone and meet other Wayne State University students who are; seeking adventure, wanting to learn new skills, looking for leadership opportunities, and wanting to have fun. The Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center provides numerous educational and recreational opportunities in the outdoors, many right here in the heart of Detroit! Activities range from educational clinics, day trips, and climbing competitions to extended overnight trips rafting in West Virginia, skiing in Michigan, or kayaking in the Georgian Bay.
