What do I need to get into the Mort Harris RFC?

In order to enter the Mort Harris RFC you need your valid OneCard.  The front desk staff cannot access your student records to verify registration.  You must have your valid OneCard.

What if I forgot my OneCard?

If you do not have your OneCard you may go to the OneCard office on the second floor of the Welcome Center.  They can give you a one day pass into the facility.  There are no other methods to entering the Mort Harris RFC than having your OneCard or receiving a one day pass from the OneCard office.

What happens if someone uses my OneCard or I use someone else’s OneCard?

You are the only person who can use your OneCard.  Using another person's OneCard (even a family member's or close friend's) is a misdemeanor on Wayne State's campus.  If you attempt to enter the Mort Harris RFC with another person's OneCard:

  1. you will be denied entrance,
  2. the OneCard will be confiscated
  3. you and the rightful owner will both be assessed a $25 fine
  4. you and the rightful owner will not be able to utilize the Mort Harris RFC until the fine is paid, and
  5. Student Code of Conduct charges may be filed in you do not comply with the stated policies.

Why doesn’t my OneCard work?

Students have access into the Mort Harris RFC during the semester they are registered for classes, provided the full tuition bill has been paid.  If you are denied entrance, ask yourself these questions:

  1. Are you currently enrolled in classes?
  2. Is your bill completely paid?  Have all of your financial aid and scholarship payments been made?
  3. Are you an employee of Wayne State University?  Employee status overrides student status.  If you are an employee (not a student assistant) you must purchase a membership.  If you are a student assistant your account may be coded incorrectly.  Contact the OneCard office to verify.
  4. Are you a graduate assistant, teaching assistant or research assistant?  Most assistantships override student status, requiring you to purchase a membership.  There are some university-approved assistantships which retain student status.  There is a complete list of the univiersity-aprroved assistantships at the front desk of the Mort Harris RFC.
  5. Has your OneCard been near a magnet or a cell phone, have you punched a hole in your OneCard or is it old?  Magnets and cell phones can erase the data stored on the magnetic strip of your OneCard, as can  punching holes in your card to keep it on your keychain.  If you card is damaged or old, take it to the OneCard office for a replacement.
