Professional Development
The department of Campus Recreation is highly dedicated to developing students into experienced professionals. Employees are constantly learning on the job skills such as time management, customer service and heightened initiative.
Additionally, supplemental training is constantly offered to the staff. Sessions on resume development, customer service, graduate school advising and numerous other topics are offered on a regular basis.
The Campus Recreation staff also travels to local, state, regional and national conventions and tournaments each year. Students have the opportunity to officiate in basketball tournaments with peers from institutions across the nation, attend conventions and present on the knowledge they have learned while working at Wayne State University.

- Emerging Recreational Sports Leaders Conference
- 19th Annual ERSL Conference February 12-13, 2010 in Tallahassee, FL hosted by Florida A&M University.
- National Intramural Recreation Sports Association (NIRSA) National Convention
- NIRSA 2010 will be in Anaheim, California April 20-23, 2010.
