Rock Climbing Course LFA 1310

If you really have high aspirations, you must learn to rock climb!  While Southeastern Michigan may not be the rock climbing capital of the Western world, you can learn the knots and rope work necessary for safe climbing right here on campus at the Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center.  Students will learn how to belay, to set top-rope anchors correctly, and learn to rappel safely with confidence.  This introductory class is designed to instill the principles of good rock climbing technique and open the door to the world of climbing. 

Classes meets for the first seven weeks of the Fall semester.
Fall, 2009: T-TH, CRN 15628, September 3–October 20
Fall, 2009: M-W, CRN 15917, September 9-October 26
*Both sections meet 11:45 am-12:40 pm

Class size limited to 20 participants.

Freshmen Quests  are 3 day, 2 night outdoor adventure trips for cohort groups of up to 14 incoming freshmen. The Quests are designed for students to create a network of  friends who share a unique, common  experience to support each other throughout  their college career
 
All camping and canoeing  supplies will be provided for the students so  there is no need to worry  about sleeping bags or tents.
 
 
 
              
The 3rd annual Warrior Games, April 13-16, 2009 is sponsored by the WSU Student Council and Campus Recreation.  This week long event is a competition of all WSU students and organizations.  These events encourage spirited competition to enhance campus life.  The event is free to all students and organizations.  Warrior Games combines recreational and intellectual games.  The Warrior Games were established to give students and organizations an avenue to build stronger relationships amongst themselves as well as publicize and social throughout the WSU community.  The Warrior Games is a spirited tool to building campus life.
