College intramurals are for currently enrolled WSU students (that means they are taking classes during the term of the IM sport they are playing) and WSU faculty and staff who have a membership to the MHRFC. No exceptions. Community members of the MHRFC are not eligible to participate in WSU intramural sports.
Forming a Team
All participants must be Wayne State University students, Wayne State employees (faculty or staff) or Mort Harris RFC members. Guests and non-members will not be allowed to play unless otherwise noted on the registration form.
Students living in the residence halls on campus can very easily form teams with others on their wing, floor or building. Ask your RA for information and keep your eyes open for flyers and booths around campus. Student organizations are also a great place to recruit friends to join your team. Information will be periodically sent to the president of your organization.
Find teammates in your classes, ask your professor to play too!
Can’t Find a Team?
Register as a free agent. We will give your name to teams needing extra players or, if enough free agents sign up, you may choose to form a team.
Entry deadlines for each league and special event are in the Campus Recreation Handbook and will be made available via postings and announcements on our website and in the Mort Harris RFC. A completed registration form must be on file with the Intramural/Club Sports Office by 11 p.m. on the deadline date in order to be included in league play. Registration forms may be downloaded or be picked up at the Mort Harris RFC.
Pre Season Meeting
Prior to the start of each league, the team captain is required to attend a rules meeting. The Assistant Director of Campus Recreation will notify all managers of the meeting time. All meetings are held at the Mort Harris RFC. If the team captain (or team representative) does not attend the rules meeting, the team will automatically have one loss on their league record and will lose all protesting rights. Teams without a representative at the rules meeting will still be held responsible for all policies and procedures set forth by the Intramural/Club Sports office.
The Intramural Sports office will attempt to schedule games around specified team requests. There is no guarantee that the we will be able to honor all requests. Teams will be notified at the rules meeting when they should pick up or download the league schedules. League schedules will be posted at rfc.wayne.edu.
