Matthaei Recreation Schedule

Fall 2023
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

• Anyone who is not a current Wayne State student must buy a membership to the Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center in order to use the Matthaei Facilities. This includes faculty, staff, and alumni.
• No Saturday or Sunday recreation due to department programs.
• Please have your WSU OneCard available upon entrance.
• All indoor/outdoor areas will have a limited amount of recreation due to classes, athletic events, department programs, and special events. Please check listing below.
• Availability Time Subject to Change
• Classes, athletic practices, and events take priority over recreation.

Lap Swim will not be available during 6:30 - 8:30pm on the follwing dates due to Athletic Events:

*The bleachers/steps are not to be used for recreational purposes*

ALL alumni need to be members of the Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center in order to use the facility. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Matthaei policies and procedures

1. All open recreation will be canceled in the evenings during ALL athletic events - all dates are posted on front.
2. All areas are reserved for classes and athletics first. Classes and athletics have priority inside during inclement/winter months.
3. All affiliates of Wayne State are required to swipe their OneCard upon entrance to the building. There are NO exceptions. The Facility Office reserves the right to check all I.D.'s including all alumni members.
4. Unauthorized locks are not to be left on overnight. Please use the locker plan if you wish to leave items in your locker.
5. The Tartar Shop also has beverages and snack items available to buy.
6. For additional recreation and building info, call the Facility Office at 313-577-4295.
7. Lost/Found articles will possibly be stored for 30 days ONLY!!

EVERY EVENING & ALL DAY FRIDAY POLICY:

EVERYONE entering the Matthaei Facility on Monday through Friday (day and evening) MUST conform to the following:

1. Swipe his/her OneCard, sign in. You may be asked for you ID for verification.
2. Anyone who does not have a One Card will not have access to the building.
3. Proper gym shoes and court attire is a necessity in all areas during classes and recreation.
4. Athletic practices, game events, and special events have priority over recreation on the athletic complex.
