Guest Policy

Individuals may purchase a guest day pass for Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center if they are sponsored by a current member who is present at the time of purchase. All sponsors and guests are required to provide their ID, OneCard, or Alumni Association ID at the time of purchase, and must surrender their valid picture IDs to gain access. In addition, guests and their sponsors must participate in activities together and exit the facility at the same time.

Groups and organizations staying on campus or the surrounding Midtown area that would like access to Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center should contact Sharmilla Sands at ssands@wayne.edu.

The Mort Harris RFC staff will confiscate cards used by people who are not their rightful owners, and they will be asked to leave the building. If the card user refuses to leave or release the misused OneCard, WSU Police will be notified and Code of Conduct charges will be filed with the Dean of Students Office. Confiscated OneCards can be retrieved by their rightful owner for $25.

Policies

  • Current members are limited to sponsering no more than one guest per day.
  • Guests may not sponser guests.
  • Guests are inelligable for equipment checkout.
  • Guests may not transfer from one sponsor to another during any visit.
  • Due to space limitations, guests are prohibted after 6:00 p.m on any given day.
  • 0–16-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult at all times. You may not work out while your child waits in the lobby areas.
  • Individuals under the age of 16 may make use of the climbing wall and open recreation.
Guest Pass Fees
Adult Day Pass $10 Valid until the guest and sponsor exit the building.
Child Day Pass $5 Valid until the guest and sponsor exit the building.


Children

Participants must be sixteen years old or older to use exercise equipment. This age limit is consistent with exercise facilities throughout the United States and is the recommendation of most equipment manufacturers. The equipment in the fitness center is designed for individuals with fully developed bodies.
